Longboarding Around the World

Longboarding is a very popular sport all around the world.

A common thing for some longboarders is traveling to different countries to find spots to skate. Some longboard companies, such as LandYachtz, come from the North American continent to countries such as Africa, Asia, and Europe, to skate and meet the locals. A recent event would be LandYachtz's trip to South Africa, where they skated down the biggest hills and joined with local longboarders to have a good time.

Popular longboarding events also take place around the world, which includes downhill races. Every year, there's an event called the "Maryhill Festival of Speed," located in Maryhill, Washington, USA. Hundreds of riders, including some that come from different countries, come all the way down to Washington to skate the Maryhill Loops Road, a 3.6 mile long downhill road, which has many sharp turns, and fast straights.

Longboarding takes you places, and its a great international sport. Someday, I will also travel to cool places to find spots to skate.

What is longboarding?

For those who may not know, longboarding is a sport derived from skateboarding, but has a different range of things you can do. Like the name suggest, longboards are longer skateboards, meaning you can go faster easier, and I believe its way more fun than just skateboarding.

In skateboarding, your main goal might be doing tricks at the park or on the street, or simply get from point A to point B. 

However, in longboarding, there are many more things you can do. It can be cruising, racing at 30 mph down a hill, or practicing sliding.

Longboarding is a popular sport all around the world, and the longboarding community is diverse, including ages from young children to some in their later years. 

Ever since I got my first longboard, it has been one of my favorite hobbies, and I go out and longboard with my siblings on my free time. I love the thrill, and I compare it to flying, except on the ground.
